I laughed out loud at this Twitter comment: These people from Oklahoma are scared of a little blizzard. Aren’t they the same people that take pics of tornadoes?
Yes, we are. So consider this blizzard the equivalent of a F5 tornado in New York.
We’re not accustomed, or prepared to handle, 20 inches of snow. As the all-day coverage unfolded, I cooked, did all the laundry, put out candles and flashlights and piled warm blankets in the living room.
What I didn’t do is create this week’s Bible study.
I hope you’ll check back next Tuesday when we resume Pushing Past Your Past.
Today it’s hovering around 0 to 10 degrees, another unfamiliar experience for this Oklahoma girl, and the several inches of snow is here to stay for a couple of days.
You may have missed the Bible study, but there are some other great options for you to consider today.
I hope you’ll join me on two thriving Facebook communities. If you are a mom, we are hosting Karen Ehman, a hospitality and organizational expert on Moms Together today, along with a great giveaway. It’s a group of 1700 moms that encourage each other as moms and women of faith daily.
If you just need a dose of daily scripture, a weekly Bible study, and a #livefree script to help you as you run after all that God has for you in spite of a painful past, then join me at Live Free Facebook group.

That is so funny. I am from Iowa but am currently living in San Antonio, TX. We are suppose to get an inch of snow tonight and how everyone is acting you would think we are getting a foot of snow but I understand they are not use to it. I am good with them closing everything down and having a 3 day weekend though : ) Stay warm!!!
Suzanne,
Try 4-6 inches of ice frist than 3-4 inches of snow on top of that. WE have not been out of the house since Monday the 31st and still cannot get out. Have two dogs and they both held there stuff for over 36 hours. This is the 3rd and just now going to go see if I can get in the car and de-ice it. Also no food almost. But worst is my husband is very ill with heart problems and a dibectic. Thia has been fun in INDIANA this winter. Blessings.
Love the pic! Winter, you gotta love Winter. I’m an Iowa girl and let me tell ya, I strongly dislike the 0-10 degree temps, so I can imagine how you feel! The beauty in all of this for you~ it won’t last very long.
