Wow, I loved yesterday’s teaching by Jana. It took us deep. Rather than rush into another teaching, I want to settle in for another day with this study method.
There is a lot of encouragement in this scripture:
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. Ephesians 1:17 (NIV)
When I first became a believer, I didn’t know anything about the Bible. Not the stories of Noah and the Ark. Not anything, really.
The Bible seemed almost a mystery.
I began to pray this prayer:
God, help me understand this Word. If there’s something in here for me, bring it to light.
I believe this was Paul’s prayer for the church as well in this passage. I see a promise contained within this verse. I believe that — just as you and I are studying together — that our eyes can be opened, our understanding deepened, as we invite God to join us in the journey.
That’s exciting to me! Is it you?
Share your story of how and when you began to understand the Word of God.
Share what you’ve learned in your journal, but also here with each other.
My “what is” question is: What is the spirit of wisdom and revelation?
I’ll share my thoughts with you later in our conversation. I can’t wait to hear what you glean from this study today.
