Did you know that you can delight the heart of God?
In today’s adventure to revolutionary prayer, we won’t ask a thing from him.
Instead, we’ll ask him this question:
What can I do to bring you joy, Lord? http://wp.me/p4jbdw-3tm #ComeWithMe #13thdisciple @suzanneeller
You might be surprised at the answer. We often feel like it’s the big things that delight the heart of God. It’s usually the smallest of things.
A small step of faith.
A word spoken at the right time.
A text sent to a friend.
Somewhere in the ordinary of our day there is extraordinary eternal impact waiting for us (even if we don’t see it).
Just pose the question. He’ll provide the answer.
There might not be an answer right away, but prepare your heart for when he does speak.
Shortly after I began to ask this question, I was holding two-year-old Josiah in my arms, rocking him while his mama slept. I sensed that gentle voice inside of me: This brings me joy.
I don’t know, but God saw something I didn’t.
Another time I sent an email of encouragement, and it brought him joy. This has become a regular part of my prayer life. I hope it will become a part of yours.
Ask this question every day throughout this adventure.
Day 3 of 21-Days to Revolutionary Prayer
In your sacred space, ask God this question: What can I do to bring you joy today?
If a person comes to mind, pray for that person.
If the Lord shows you a tangible act (sending a text, writing a note, making a phone call), write it down.
If the Lord asks you to do something, like forgive an old wound, or to simply worship, open your heart to Him in that area.
If you hear nothing in the moment, that’s okay. He’s with you all day. Listen for his voice.

If you struggle with feeling worthy, read I feel unfinished.
Were you surprised at what you felt or sensed inside as you asked this question?
The more we ask this question, the more we start to see what brings God joy.
