The event was beautiful.
Women filled the church. Worship was incredible. I finished my message, stepped down, and then I waited.
This is the most vulnerable part of ministry for me.
It’s that moment where you’ve done what God has asked you to do, and you wait and hope and pray that it makes a difference. It’s that moment where I have to let go of my expectations, and trust God.
Sometimes I see what God is doing inside of someone immediately. Their hands raised. Tears falling. While those outwards signs are beautiful, I will never discount what God is doing in ways that we cannot see.
On our last day of this adventure, I want you to know that there’s more that God wants to do in you as you continue to live a life of thank you.
While this adventured lasted only 21 days here in this community, it’s meant to be the beginning.
Maybe, like I did yesterday, you feel a little vulnerable.
You’re looking at your life and you’re seeing some change in this area, but you want more. Or you’re looking at others who seemed to grab this and run with it. You wonder if you’ll ever be that free.
Hang in there. The work God is doing in you isn’t supposed to mimic anyone else’s. Take this 21-day journey and continue to practice intentional gratitude. Give it a chance to settle in and become a part of you.
If you have an off-day, get back up. Ask God for new mercies, and keep going.
I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return]. Philippians 1:6 (AMP)
This is our promise. That good work will continue in each of us! May this be a beautiful beginning rather than an ending. We’ll continue to walk in intentional gratitude and settle into living a lifetime of thank you.
Day #21 of Living a Life of Thank You
Thank you for joining in this 21-Day Adventure. This has changed me. I pray that it has helped you grow as well.
Q: Read Philippians 1:6. What good work has God begun in you during these 21 days?
Q: Are you willing to trust that he will complete this work in you? Why or why not?
Q: What might trusting him look like as you grow spiritually in this area?
Q: What part do you play in continued transformation?
What’s next for the Living Free Together community?
Beginning Thursday, we’ll have a month of rest.
That doesn’t mean that we’ll be snoozing. Instead, we’ll explore what it is to rest spiritually, physically, and emotionally — and how faith plays a part.
Several #livefree friends will join in the conversation and. . . drumroll! We’ll have giveaways on several different days! I peeked at some of the giveaways yesterday and I can’t wait to share them with you.
