Over 4000 of you visited this blog on Friday and Saturday.
Well over 200 of you shared comments or privately emailed me. I asked my prayer team to join me and to begin to pray over every name.
Today I want to share these truths from scripture.
Write them on a sticky note.
Place them where you can see them every day.
You are loved, not because you are perfect, but because you are mine
When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.
He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. Because of his grace he declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life. Titus 3:4-7 (NLT)
I will fill the empty places in your heart
Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’” John 7:38 (NLT)
Nothing is bigger than my love for you
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.
No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39 (NLT)
You are not an orphan
Even if my father and mother abandon me, the Lord will hold me close. Psalm 27:10 (NLT)
I willingly walked to the cross to heal your heart
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released,
that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free . . . Luke 4:18-19 (NLT)
Your pain may have led you down the wrong path, but my arms are wide open
“So he {she} returned home to his father. And while he {she} was still a long way off, his {her} father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son {daughter}, embraced him {her}, and kissed him {her}. His {daughter} son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son {daughter}.’
“But his {her} father said to the servants, ‘Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him {her}. Get a ring for his {her} finger and sandals for his {her} feet. And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast, for this son {daughter} of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He {She} was lost, but now he {she} is found.’ So the party began. Luke 5:20-24 (NLT)
Healing may take time, but I’m with you all the way
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. Philippians 1:6 (NLT)
You are not alone
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. Psalm 34:18 (NLT)
I will be strong for you
Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NLT)
I am doing a new work in your heart
For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. Isaiah 43:19 (NLT)
My Daddy did show up but these verses still spoke to a wounded heart and I loved them. Thank you.
Suzie,
Bless your heart. Your devotion did speak to me this weekend and these verses are so precious. Your (God’s) timing is perfect as yesterday was hard. My dad left when I was a baby and has never been a part of my life. I didn’t realize that my perfectionism and struggles may have been rooted in wanting his acceptance and approval. Thank you for the reminder that my true Father is perfect, loving, always faithful, and will never leave or forsake me. That He desires me.
you couldn’t have picked 10 better verses! i’m going to favorite your tweet!
Thank you. My daughter is 10 and I am so grateful to share this with her. So many nights she cries for her daddy. My three boys as well. Thank you thank you for serving God in such a way that so many of us can be blessed with the reminder of how loved we truly are!
Thank you, Stephanie. In the front of my Bible it reads: The Bible is alive. It speaks to me. It has feet; it runs to me. It has hands; it lays hold of me.
This quote from Martin Luther shares that there is power and truth contained in scripture. I believe that with all that I am.
Read these scriptures over your daughter in love. Let them soak into her being. She is loved, she is of value, she’s not alone. What an amazing mom you are.
The beauty of this list of verses is that it applies to everything we face. Thank you for this reminder of our Abba Father.
Hi Suzie,
Thank you for this post. It is beautiful.
Thank you for these Words and scriptures. I have underlined each scripture in my bible with your headings written above-this way I never loose them-precious, precious Words of life and love and promises from God our Father.
Thank you so much, I did not get to see the post last week. I am going to write these verses out and underline them in my bible. My father died when I was 8 I never remember him holding me or telling me he loved me. He was a alcholic. I have realized my view of my Heavenly Father is connected with the view of my earthly father and I don’t know how to change it. Will you please add me to your prayer list. I am going to have to stop writing as I am going to cry. I have shed enough tears over the last couple of years to fill a boat. Sometimes I w8nder if I was one of the chosen or not . I want to love again and love my Jesus. Thank you so much for caring. Annie
Thank you so much!!! I really needed this. I’m 35 yrs old and still it’s the little girl inside of me that still lone’s, want, and needs that father that was never there.
This spoke volumes to me today! I bought your book last year at “She Speaks” Come and Follow and finished it in like two days! I have contemplated what I know God wants me to do but it’s so hard to step out in the unknown! I mean “what if I fail at it” is my biggest thought! Since then God has thrust me into our “Kids Ministry” at church at he has walked along side me every step I take! But this other calling that I have had since 2012 I keep saying I can’t but I know it’s not me doing it but Jesus! It’s his work and not mine I’m just an instrument he will use! Suzanne I started 2017 with two Words…Just Believe! I’m just believing Jesus will do great things! Thank you so much for you saying yes to Jesus!
Thank you, Cammie, for such encouraging words. Come With Me is still a part of my faith journey. My prayer is for women all over the nation to stand shoulder to shoulder and follow him wherever he leads. To scoop up women and children along the way as we love them, as we live out our faith, and as we tangibly live our faith through Jesus’ example.
