Once a month I take your question and we discuss it here together around the table. Your prayers and thoughts for Mary are welcome today ~ Suzie
Dear Suzie, I love the Lord and I sometimes, more often than I should, find myself allowing other things and people to get in my way of having a true relationship with Christ.
Can we talk about that? What do I do? Mary C.
Dear Mary,
I love that you love the Lord. I do too, and that love changed me and the direction of my life.
But it has been a process.
At first all I loved the Lord, but I also resisted in many ways His hand on my life. Sometimes that was a lack of knowledge. I didn’t realize that God was shaping me in those times when it seemed like He was taking away things from me. He wanted so much better for me. He was offering things of great value over things that held such low value for me and my life.
This is the good news. The news I want you to hang onto today.
Over time, His hands on my life became familiar and I recognized what He was doing.
In the beginning it’s bumpy as you resist.
Ease into His hands. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you recognize . . .
His touch.
His teaching.
His voice when He speaks.
The more that you focus in on His touch and His voice, the more you begin to recognize the distractions that once held so much power — like people or places or things that tempt, but keep you stuck.
And you stop resisting and lean in to His love instead.
He loves you, Mary.
So much.
And yes, I will pray. Let’s begin today, okay?
Rather than pray my own words over you, I will pray Scripture. From Ephesians 1:17 -22 :
Father, today I pray for Mary constantly, asking You, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give her spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that she might grow in her knowledge of God. I pray that Mary’s heart will be flooded with light so that she can understand the wonderful future You have promised to those he called. Help Mary to realize what a rich and glorious inheritance You have given to Your people.
I pray that she will begin to understand the incredible greatness of Your power for those of us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. Now You are far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else in this world or in the world to come, over distractions, over temptation, over the ploys of an enemy who does not want Mary to know and experience freedom and love that comes in and through Christ.
In the powerful name of Christ I thank you for Mary and all those who read and embrace this truth for themselves today, Amen
Do you have a question you want to ask? I may not have an answer, but we’ll look into scripture together. I’ll pray for you. We’ll ask God to offer wisdom and encouragement.
I feel the same as Mary. Please pray for me, too. Thank you!
I’m excited! ..after so many years I finally feel that ‘touch’ so evident in my life. I haven’t always been
willing to let go of some personal trials but after i have learn to trust FULLY. It is real. Thank you so much for your ministry. It’s such a blessing.
Suzie, I join you in prayer for Mary! May you feel and know without doubt His love and His presence in your heart. I find it no coincidence that while I was sitting her looking for verses to match the one-word prayers of my sisters in faith that my bible too is open at Ephesians 1: 17-20. I have sisters who have asked for clarity, hope, faith, strength, power and these verses are opening wide!!!!
As always thank you for sharing. Your wisdom is of great value because you seek the word and trust The Lord!
Continued prayers that all will see, feel, accept the Love of Christ!
What a beautiful prayer! Thank you for such encouragement! I’ll pray for all our sisters, that we may know of our Father’s love for each one on us and we may act on that love. Thanks agian.
I join in prayer for Mary. Please pray for me as I struggle to hear God’s direction. He answered a prayer of NO. I am trying to fully accept and understand. God Bless you for your encouragement for us.
I have been where Mary is and understand completely. I am beginning to experience what Suzie talked about the post. It is a process that is bumpy but so very worth it! When you begin to recognize His Hand and it begins to become familiar you may feel like I do–although the road has been difficult I am grateful for every bump–each one got me closer to His Hand.
I love this prayer. I often feel like Mary when life happens and the other shoe keeps dropping. Today’s devotion on Proverbs 31 based on Psalm 139 was exactly what I needed to hear. Psalm 139 is my favorite scripture and go-to place when I feel overwhelmed. Praying for Mary & myself.
