UPDATE: This post was originally about my beautiful friend, Bonnie and her son, Ollie. During the night last night, this little guy went to be with Christ. Will you pray for this beautiful couple?
I’m sitting here this morning with a heavy heart for a precious friend. Sometimes it’s hard to put the words down what it feels to experience great loss.
Just this past week my own family experienced loss. It took our breath away.
Where do we turn?
God is the Source of strength in our hard places. When our world collapses beneath us, we are not without strength.
We are not swept away, forever lost.
We are anchored by our faith in Him.
It makes no sense in the natural. You are experiencing the heartbreak of your emotions, or crying a thousand tears.
Yet you and I are held close in those hard places.
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. Psalm 28:7
We are anchored by His Word.
We are anchored by His presence.
We are anchored by joy that makes no sense in the natural.
We are also anchored by the incredible strength we find through each other. Praying for one another. Love each other. Lifting each other up.
And incredibly, though your heart is heavy, our spirit can be light.
Maybe today you need to feel anchored.
This prayer is for you.
Thank you, amazing God, for your strength and comfort and power over our hard places. Thank you for the woman reading this today who feels that she is drifting, swept away. Hold her tight. Hold her close. Let her know that You will be her strength.
Suzie
If you are joining in today’s #livefreeThursday #linkup, I’d love to hear about a time you were anchored. What does that mean to you? How do we do it? What scripture held you close during a difficult time?

Suzie, praying this morning for this precious family.
Thank you for sharing this important prayer request.
Praying.
Praying for Bonnie and her husband.
Lifting this precious family into His healing hands today. May He hold them close. Jesus, be near to these broken hearts.
Praying for this family, and also for you and yours in your loss this week as well. His peace passes all understanding.
Suzie,
Praying for God’s arms of comfort to surround this family at this difficult time. I think God really wanted this message to sink in with me this morning because I am linked up next to Kelly and her post was on the Lord being our anchor amidst life’s storms. Praise that He is our anchor and our Rock upon whom we stand. Going forward today with this image firmly in my heart…
Blessings,
Bev
Oh Suzie…I saw you post on fb….am praying for this sweet family this morning. My mama heart mourns right alongside her. Praying for comfort and a strength beyond them. Even in the hard and difficult…praise be to God. xo
There are no words, really, at times like this. And through your study, I am learning that this is okay, even healthy and helpful. Praying for this precious family, and continuing to pray for you and your family as well. May God embrace each of you, and may you sense Him near.
Much love,
Kamea
Thanks, Kamea. You are right. He weeps with us. That’s comforting. He knows our pain, but also knows the truth of eternity! That’s powerful.
He is our anchor through joyful, happy, sad, stressful, and unknowing moments. Praying for little Ollie and his parents. Thankful to see them worshipping through the tough times. Faith and trust in our Heavenly Father is the only way to worship Him during the tough times.
God Bless!
Suzie my heart is heavy for your family and Bonnie’s. You have written a beautiful tribute to the sustaining hand of God. May your hearts be lifted today by God’s peace. May He do for you what only He can do. Love on them extra Jesus. xxxooo
Anchored in Him is always the right safety precaution. Thank you for sharing as well as allowing others to spread the good news through your site. May God bless you for your steady faithfulness.
