I’m in Washington D.C. this week.
I’m freezing! My feet hurt after walking 15 miles in one day.
I’m also in awe of the history of our nation. God is woven through many of the memorials. I read Lincoln’s words to a divisive nation and it took my breath away.
We need those same words today, Father.
Today’s revolutionary prayer is for our leaders. For our nation. For our President and President-elect (regardless of our political beliefs).
Right now there are conversations going on all over the world about the recent election. We debate. We wrestle with it. We may cheer on the current leaders or are in despair.
Instead of talking about them today, let’s pray for them.
What do we pray?
Pray for wisdom.
Pray that their hearts will be turned toward God.
Pray that our nation will heal.
Rather than talk about our leaders, let us commit to pray for them. #ComeWithMe #13thdisciple @suzanneeller
The Holy Spirit will show you what to pray, whether that is for leaders on a national level or those in your own community.
I snapped this picture yesterday afternoon, just as the sun was going down. As I did so, I prayed for those who will walk the halls today.
Will you join me?
If you feel comfortable, share your prayer here and we’ll lift up our nation together.
