Do you feel like you’re going nowhere? Everybody passing you by? You can feel like that even when you’re working hard and doing all that you can.
It seems like people are passing you by and you’re at a standstill.
Except, as believers, we are never going nowhere.
I read my devotion today (Jesus Calling by Sarah Young) and I underlined this in bold ink:
Although you may feel as if you are going nowhere in this world, your spiritual journey is another matter altogether, taking you along a steep, treacherous path of adventure.
Sometimes that adventure is thrilling. You soar high. You sense God as close as your skin. At other times you push through the wilderness, digging deep into the reserves of what you know to be true. Sometimes we stretch in our faith as we trust, and other times we push through feelings to hold to truth.
Just the other day I stood in my living room and I held my hands up in the air in surrender. And that’s part of the adventure, too, knowing when we simply can’t do it on our own.
So regardless of what is falling into my life, no matter how it may appear to me or others, as long as I am following Christ I am always going somewhere.
That complete changes my perspective. What about you?
