Living free together is Compassion
We love our faith, but living our faith changes the world. We live free together as we come alongside women and those ministering to them. We have three COMPASSION initiatives a year.
Join us in our current COMPASSION project as we partner with Girl Set Free. This project runs from July 10, 2018 through August 10, 2018. Our goal is to raise $5000 to purchase additional sewing equipment.
Girl Set Free uses fashion and design to empower survivors of human trafficking so they can be given freedom, independence and the chance at a better story. These women, like Mon-Maya (pictured), become master craftsman. Mon-Maya creates beautiful hand-woven fabrics on a back strap loom for the Girl Set Free collections. She is a survivor of exploitation and found hope being a part of the Girl Set Free team.
To make a difference and join in with us in this COMPASSION project, please give directly to Girl Set Free. You can give $25 or $5 or $1000. It all makes a difference!
(Please note when you give that you are joining in the LFT COMPASSION project.)
Our first initiative of 2018 was to sponsor a literacy class for women in India who do not know how to read. This included many women considered “untouchable.” Our goal was 30 women. This included one year of class for each woman, training a teacher, and classroom materials.
With your help:
- There were 57 one-time gifts to Mission India totaling $4,060.34
- There were 4 monthly gifts totaling $50/month
We didn’t raise funds for 30 women (one community class). Instead, you helped raised funds for five classes!
We worked with Mission India, an organization that has reached thousands of women, children, and men with the gospel through literacy, children’s Bible clubs, church plants, and more.
Thanks to the Living Free Together community, nearly 300 books were placed in the hands of women in jail, pregnancy crisis centers, given to women freed from the sex slave trade, placed in the library of a prison, and were sent to specific ministries within Turkey and India.
Suzie followed 115 of those books into a jail and ministered to the beautiful residents within. This was accomplished through the first COMPASSION BOGO (buy one, we give one) Initiative during the launch of Suzie’s Come With Me Devotional: A Yearlong Adventure in Following Jesus.
Why can’t I donate directly to you?
We choose non-profit organizations already working on the ground. Your donations to these organizations give you confidence that they are vetted and your donation makes a difference. This also allows your donation to be tax-deductible.
Why do you do this?
I believe Jesus asked us to love like he did. He loved sacrificially. He loved tangibly. He loved those who were unseen and unheard. I believe that when we come together to love like Jesus, the world is changed one person at a time.
