He left a heart-shaped note on the bed.
The words were simple: I love you, babe. “R”
Maybe the guys would rib him if they found out. Maybe someone would point out that it’s just a paper heart. But to me, it was special.
He was thinking about me.
In our busy life and schedule, God is thinking about us. How will we respond to such a gift? #ComeWithMe #13thdisciple
In his busy schedule, and our busy life, he took a few minutes to do something out of the ordinary.
That’s where we’ll land today on Day 9 of our 21 Days of Revolutionary Prayer.
I want you to write a love letter to God.
Some of you with your fancy gel pens will make this gorgeous. Others, like me, will simply write it in our journal. Some of you might write a few words, while others will write a thousand.
The goal in this is to slow down long enough to verbalize your love for Him.
Once you write it, close yourself in. Turn off the distractions. Read it to Him.
May I share mine with you? Though I’m deeply private, I realize that this is not easy for some of you. You’ll see that I’m not trying to be a writer in this love letter. It’s just me and God, just like it will be just you and Him as you write yours.
God, I love you. I can’t imagine a life that doesn’t include you in every aspect. I love that you walk with me every single day. I love that you gently picked me up from the ashes, and showed me who I was. I love that I can call out your name, and you hear me. I love that you challenge me to be my God-filled self, but you are patient when I fall way short of that.
I am so grateful that you were with me in the hardest parts of my life. When the bottom was falling out, you held me and my family close. Yet I’m also thankful that you are with me when life is easy, still challenging me to grow and seek you and discover the depths of my relationship with you.
I love you today. I’ll love you tomorrow. “S”
I believe that our love letters to God are private, and yet I also know that your love letter will encourage someone here today, if you want to share it.
I’m so glad you are on this Revolutionary Prayer journey with me.
Day 9 of 21 Days to Revolutionary Prayer
- Write your love letter to God
- Don’t try to make it perfect
- Get into a quiet place and read it out loud to Him
And if you are struggling to say the words because you think God is mad at you, read this: I don’t think God can forgive me.
